Animals
On planet earth there are nearly two million species of animals, most of which are invertebrates which means that they do not have a backbone. Most species are cold blooded so they use the heat from the Sun to keep warm.
Carnivores eat other animals, birds and insects. Herbivores eat only plant leaves and grass.
Animals range in size from elephants and blue whales down to mice and insects, some of which are very small!
