Planet Earth
The Earth is the third planet from the Sun in our Solar System and is teeming with life. There are millions of species of animals, insects, fish and birds all living on the planet. There are also a huge number of trees and plants.
Human beings are the sentient life form but their influence on planet Earth is one that is causing problems for all concerned!

The focus on burning fossil fuels, particularly to generate electricity and when used in internal combustion engines, is potentially changing the balance of incoming and outgoing radiation between the Sun and planet Earth.
The result of this potential imbalance could result in global warming. This increase of temperature could cause the polar ice caps to melt and the sea levels to rise with the loss of low lying coasts and islands around the globe.
Earth's atmosphere
The Earth's atmosphere is essential for life on Earth. Without it we will all have a problem!
