The Indian Ocean
The Indian Ocean is the third largest of the world's oceans, covering about 70 million square kilometers! It has a coastline of approximately 66,000 km , and the deepest parts of the ocean are approximately 7500 metres deep.

The volume of water in the Indian Ocean is estimated to be nearly 300 million cubic kilometers.
One of the species unique to the Indian Ocean is the dugong, which is a large marine mammal.
Various whale species are seen in the Indian Ocean, in particular , humpback whales and sperm whales.
