Trees are woody and perennial plants. There are two main types of trees, which are hardwoods and conifers. Most hardwood trees are deciduous, meaning they lose all of their leaves in the autumn. Most conifers are evergreen, meaning that their leaves, which are mostly thin and needle shaped, remain on the tree throughout the year.
