On planet Earth we have continents, oceans, mountains and deserts! Our planet is teeming with life. Animals, fish, insect, bugs, plants, trees and birds are all part of our world. Over 95% of the species on Earth are insects and there are at least one million different insect species. The biodiversity on our planet is huge, and there are thought to be many millions more species that have yet to be discovered!

We do have some real problems on planet Earth with the environment and the ecosystems that support the life forms. We are not looking after all these different environments and ecosystems and species are becoming extinct as a result of this lack of care.
Ecosystems throughout the world are being damaged by the activities of human beings, who often have total disregard for the damage that they are doing to many different species of animals, insects, birds etc.
