Cranes are omnivorous and feed mainly on the tubers and rhizomes of submerged sedges and water lilies as well as insects, snails and amphibians.
The Grey Crowned Crane is a bird in the crane family. It is found in the dry savannah in Africa south of the Sahara. There are two sub species of cranes:
- East African Crowned Crane
- South African Crowned Crane
The Wattled Crane is a large bird, nearly 6 foot tall, found in Africa south of the Sahara Desert.
