According to Wikipedia the term hawk can be used in several ways.
- It refers to any of the species in the subfamily Accipitrinae in Europe and Asia.
- It is a general term to refer to falcons and "true hawks" (Accipiters) as well as eagles, kites, harriers and buzzards.
- It is also used to refer to most birds of prey other than owls.
