Sharks are found in all the seas and oceans. There are 440 different species of sharks.

They are efficient predators and some species of will attack people in the water.

The bull shark is an aggressive shark and has a reputation for attacking people. One of the reasons for this is that it tends to swim in shallow water and therefore is likely to come into contact with people.

The great white shark is a ferocious and efficient predator and the shark that people are generally the most fearful of. This shark can be 5 m long (some bigger specimens have been recorded) and weigh as much as 3000 kg.

The grey reef shark is common in the central Pacific Ocean. It averages nearly 2 m in length. The grey reef shark is an aggressive shark and has been responsible for a number of attacks on people.

The lemon shark lives mainly along the subtropical and tropical parts of the Atlantic coast of North and South America. It is frequently found along coast lines and in areas where it comes into contact with people. It does not have a reputation for attacking people. The lemon shark averages approximately 3m in length and weighs around 150 kg.
